Why am I doing this?

I am 38 years old and recently was hospitalized for a week and was diagnosed as bipolar. This was a shock to me as I have always been high functioning and never really exhibited the typical traits of bipolar outwardly.

My public life that my family and coworkers saw daily wasn’t indicative of one plagued by a mental illness, however the life that was in the shadows was one that hit many of the classic bipolar symptoms. It wasn’t until my wife discovered my truly hideous shadow self that my world of secretive living came to light.

As I learn more about bipolar I intend to share what I learn in the hope that I can help someone else. I am learning about myself and I am learning about the condition and how it affects me.

I welcome you to take this journey with me.
