Last day of outpatient…

Today is my last day of my 2 week outpatient program. I’m a little apprehensive about going back to the real world.

I have learned that people don’t generally ask too many questions when they are told you were out of work for medical reasons and I hope that remains true. I do have fear of the stigma of bipolar.

Besides that I believe I am ready. I have learned so many different things in the last 2 weeks. The biggest thing is just mindfulness in every day decision making. While I still have a ways to go in fully recognizing when my manic periods are present I am definitely much more aware than before I was diagnosed.

I look forward to continuing in self discovery and self improvement. I have a diagnosis but it doesn’t define me.
